Evan Meagher, CFA – Principal & Founder

Evan Meagher has ten years of experience raising financing for and operating small companies. Prior to launching Fletcher Capital, he worked in the Private Equity Placements Group for Banc of America Securities (BAS), Bank of America’s wholly-owned investment banking subsidiary, executing late stage venture capital placements and PIPE transactions for small, distressed public companies. Prior to joining BAS, Evan first gained experience in the world of restructurings and turnarounds at Equity Partners, Inc., a boutique restructuring investment bank providing M&A advisory services to small companies in or approaching the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, typically through a 363 sale transaction. Evan also possesses significant operating experience from founding or co-founding four companies in the business services and educational services sectors.

Evan holds a BA in economics from Stanford University, an MA in organizational behavior from Stanford’s Sociology Department and Graduate School of Business, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, and a JD from the Northwestern School of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude and earned acceptance to the Order of the Coif. He holds a CFA charter, and was selected from 1400 Kellogg students by the Kellogg faculty as the inaugural recipient of Kellogg’s Four Pillars Award for Intellectual Depth. While at Kellogg, Evan headed the Distressed Management Club, wrote nine cases for Kellogg Publications (five for usage in the Managing Turnarounds Class), and participated in the ABI Corporate Restructuring Competition. He is also a member of the Northern California chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, of which Fletcher Capital is a Bronze Sponsor.

Evan is responsible for identifying target companies, negotiating deal structure, and executing turnarounds post-transaction. He also relies upon the following strong group of advisors, with deep experience in evaluating, acquiring, and operating companies.

Advisory Board

James Shein

James Shein is counsel in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the firm’s Chicago office, with primary areas of practice including corporate financial and operating restructurings, business startups and turnarounds, acquisitions, and fiduciary duties of officers and directors. Prior to joining the firm, James spent four years as the president and chief executive officer of R.C. Manufacturing and ten years prior to that as president and chief executive officer of Northbrook Corporation. He is a professor of management and strategy at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, where he currently teaches Management of Turnarounds. He was elected by his peers as Vice President of the Turnaround Management Association, an international organization of 10,000 turnaround, bankruptcy, and restructuring professionals, and serves on its International Board of Directors. James holds a BS from Purdue University, an MBA and DBA from Indiana University, and a JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

James Hoover

James Hoover is an Austin, Texas-based private investor who has provided seed stage capital to proven entrepreneurs in a variety of industries since 1987. He currently serves as the Chairman of KBI Biopharma, a contract manufacturing organization in Durham, North Carolina, and is a founder and General Partner of Alchemy Systems, a training company headquartered in Austin. Jim was educated at the School of International Service, American University and received his MBA from the University of Texas.

Kieran Meagher

Kieran Meagher is the founder and principal of Kieran B. Meagher & Associates, LLC, a law firm focusing on commercial law, insurance law, civil litigation, employment and labor law, construction law, and products liability defense. Prior to founding Kieran B. Meagher & Associates, Kieran was a partner in City, Hayes, Meagher & Dissette, P.C., an Assistant District Attorney for Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and a Supply Officer on the USS Henry W. Tucker. Kieran served as a lecturer and panel member for MCLE/NELI, Suffolk University Law School, and Lorman Educational Services, and as a trial advisor for Harvard Law School. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and serves on various corporate and nonprofit boards of directors. Kieran holds a BA in English from Manhattan College and a JD from Boston University, and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in America.

David Stott

David Stott is a Vice President at Chicago-based middle market private equity firm Wind Point Partners. Previously, David served as a financial analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Citigroup. David holds a BBA in finance and accounting from the University of Michigan and an MBA, with Distinction, from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
